Ingredients

For the Soaking Mixture
  • 2 cups Fresh Cranberries Only use fresh cranberries for best results—frozen or dried cranberries will not yield the desired texture.
  • 1 cup 7Up (or Prosecco) This fizzy drink enhances sweetness and adds flavor; feel free to swap in pineapple juice for a fruity twist.
  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice (or Pineapple Juice) This adds a delightful citrus flavor; you can choose pineapple juice based on your taste preference.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Use powdered sugar without cornstarch to avoid off-flavors while achieving that beautiful snowy look.

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • Ziplok bag
  • colander
  • Baking sheet
  • Oven

Method

Candied Cranberries Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine fresh cranberries with 7Up and orange juice. Ensure the cranberries are fully submerged; cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
  2. Once the cranberries have soaked, preheat your oven to 200°F.
  3. After the soaking time, drain the cranberries thoroughly in a colander. In a large Ziplok bag, add the drained cranberries along with powdered sugar. Seal the bag and shake gently until all cranberries are fully coated.
  4. Spread the sugar-coated cranberries evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for just 5 minutes.
  5. Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and allow the cranberries to cool completely on the baking sheet. Transfer them to a serving dish or use them as decorations.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer freshness, refrigerate them but they may slightly lose their crispness.
