  • 8 oz Spaghetti or Linguine
  • 1 tbsp Salt for seasoning pasta water
For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb Large Shrimp fresh or frozen, thawed if frozen
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
For the Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Butter or substitute with olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil to prevent butter from burning
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional for spice
For Garnishing
  • 1/4 cup Parsley freshly chopped
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water, drain the rest, and keep warm.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  4. Reduce heat to low, add cooked pasta and reserved pasta water, stirring together for 1-2 minutes to create sauce.
  5. Remove from heat, sprinkle parsley and Parmesan cheese on top, and toss gently to combine.
  6. Serve warm, optionally drizzling more olive oil or Parmesan cheese on top.
