Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat and add vegetable oil. Sear the boneless chuck roast for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix kosher salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Transfer the chuck roast to the slow cooker and rub the spice mix all over it. Pour the beef broth around the roast.
  4. Cover and set the slow cooker to low for 8-9 hours.
