Ingredients

For the Noodles
  • 8 ounces Egg Noodles or Rice Noodles Choose egg noodles for richer flavor or rice noodles for a gluten-free delight.
For the Beef
  • 1 pound Beef Sirloin This cut provides tender, flavorful bites that make this dish shine.
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil Ideal for frying, or use canola or peanut oil for a flavor twist.
For the Aroma
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic amps up the aroma; garlic powder works in a pinch.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, minced Offers that spicy, warming kick; ground ginger is a viable substitute.
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Brings umami and saltiness to your Sticky Beef Noodles; try low-sodium for a lighter touch.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Adds a touch of sweetness to balance the savory flavors; honey or coconut sugar can be used if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin Sauce This adds that sweet and tangy depth; substitute with stir-fry sauce if not available.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Thickens the sauce and coats the beef beautifully; arrowroot powder is a great alternative.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Sticky Beef Noodles
  1. Cook your egg noodles or rice noodles according to the package directions in a large pot of boiling water for about 4–6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Add thinly sliced beef sirloin and marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes until shimmering.
  4. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for 3–4 minutes without stirring. Turn and cook for another 2 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
  5. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  6. Pour in beef broth and deglaze the pan. Reintroduce the beef and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Carefully add the cooked noodles and toss with beef and sauce. Heat for an additional 1–2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.

Allowing the beef to marinate enhances the flavors. Fry the beef in a single layer to ensure good browning.
