- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of butter. Add diced onions and celery, sauté for 10-12 minutes until translucent.
- Add the cooked onion and celery mixture to a large mixing bowl with dry bread cubes, fresh parsley, and any optional herbs. Toss mixture until well-coated.
- Gradually pour 1 cup of chicken or turkey broth over the mixture, gently tossing to moisten without soaking. Season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer mixture to a buttered baking dish, spreading it evenly. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown and fluffy.
