  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Reserved Cherry Juice adjust as needed
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
For Garnish
  • 1/2 cup Slivered Almonds

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep Cherries: Thoroughly drain, mince, and squeeze dry the maraschino cherries. Set aside.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: Beat together butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, almond and cherry extracts, and fold in cherries.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Gradually add to wet ingredients until combined.
  4. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F. Drop rounded balls of dough on sheets and bake for 8-11 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on racks.
  5. Prepare Icing: Mix melted butter, cherry juice, almond extract, and powdered sugar until desired consistency.
  6. Frost & Garnish: Frost cooled cookies with icing and sprinkle slivered almonds on top before serving.
