  • 1 large Egg For a vegan option, use a flax egg instead.
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs Regular breadcrumbs can be used but won't be as crispy.
  • 1/2 cup Tempura Batter Mix Swap with extra flour and cornstarch if needed.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used but may alter texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Slap Ya Mama Seasoning Cajun seasoning can work as a substitute.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Adjust according to your heat preference.
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil Can be replaced with canola or peanut oil.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Wearing gloves, wash the jalapeños and slice them into thin strips.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, buttermilk and egg mixture, and panko mixture.
  3. Coat each jalapeño strip in flour, dip in the buttermilk mixture, then coat in the panko mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet to around 350°F.
  5. Fry each jalapeño strip for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway.
  6. Drain the fries on paper towels and serve immediately.
