  • 1 teaspoon Salt for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground preferred
  • spray Nonstick Cooking Spray can also use light oil spray
For the Breading
  • 1 cup Flour almond flour for gluten-free
  • 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar coconut sugar is a lower-GI substitute
  • 2 large Eggs can use flax eggs for vegan option
For the Crunch Coating
  • 2 cups Cornflakes gluten-free option available
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoning Mix salt, chili powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper to taste
For the Hot Honey Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Honey maple syrup for vegan alternative
  • 2 tablespoons Additional Hot Sauce use your favorite brand
  • 2 tablespoons Butter plant-based butter for dairy-free
  • 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar cane sugar can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder or fresh minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Powder for additional flavor

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Gather your ingredients and prepare equipment.
  2. Crush the cornflakes into small pieces resembling breadcrumbs and set aside.
  3. Arrange three shallow bowls for breading: mix flour and sugar in the first, whisk eggs and hot sauce in the second, and combine cornflakes with spices in the third.
  4. Slice chicken into uniform pieces and pound to an even thickness.
  5. Season chicken with salt and pepper, coat in flour, dip in egg wash, and press into cornflake mixture.
  6. Place coated chicken on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each piece, and spray tops with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 15-16 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  8. While chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey sauce by combining ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until thickened.
  9. Drizzle the hot honey sauce over the crispy chicken and serve immediately.
