Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Liberally butter the bottoms and sides of two small ramekins or mason jars.
  3. In a mixing bowl, crack one large egg and beat it until slightly frothy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually mix in the eggnog into the beaten egg until fully integrated, about 1 minute.
  5. Add both sugars and freshly grated nutmeg into the mixture and mix well, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Heat a cup of water in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Pour this into a small baking dish to create a water bath.
  7. Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared ramekins and place them into the baking dish with hot water.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a knife comes out clean from the custard.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Sprinkle with nutmeg before serving.
