Method
 

Make the Tea
  1. In a small saucepan, add halved pitted fresh cherries along with about 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer gently for 3-5 minutes until soft.
  2. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes, then remove the tea bag.
  3. Pour warmed milk into the saucepan with cherries and stir. Optionally, add a cinnamon stick.
  4. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla syrup until dissolved.
  5. In a mug, combine the brewed tea with the milk and cherry mixture, stir well.
  6. For an iced version, let the mixture cool and serve over ice.
