Ingredients

For the Skewers
  • 1 package Cinnamon Roll Dough Consider gluten-free dough for a gluten-sensitive option.
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries Substitute with blueberries, raspberries, or diced mango.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Alternatives include mascarpone or sweetened ricotta.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Swap with powdered erythritol for a sugar-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons Milk Almond milk can be a great dairy-free substitute.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon Feel free to add vanilla or other spices.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Rolling Pin
  • Wooden Skewers
  • Baking sheet
  • Medium bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Open the cinnamon roll dough and separate it into 8 rectangles. Flatten each rectangle to about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Take each flattened rectangle and place a generous dollop of cream cheese on the center, followed by two quarters of fresh strawberries. Roll each piece tightly, ensuring the edges are sealed.
  3. Thread each rolled piece onto wooden skewers, leaving space between each roll. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the skewers for about 15 minutes, or until they’re puffed and golden brown.
  5. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy.
  6. Drizzle the glaze generously over the baked skewers. Let it set for 2-3 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the warm skewers on a platter and sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough before use and tightly seal the edges of each roll. Fresh fruit enhances flavor, and a caramelized finish can be achieved with a torch.
